The trip

Two days moving between forest, coast, wildlife and country landscapes, with plenty of time to slow down and look around.

Fresh air. Open space. No need to rush.

Day One

Forest to coast

Capel→ Bunbury

Tuart Forest National Park

Start beneath the towering tuarts with an easy walk through one of the region's most distinctive natural landscapes.

Spring is especially rewarding, with fresh growth and wildflowers adding colour beneath the canopy.

Peppermint Grove Beach

Follow the forest to the coast for a walk, swim or slow afternoon by the water.

If you're travelling with kids, this is an easy place to let the day stretch out rather than filling every hour.

Marlston Hill Lookout

Head into Bunbury and finish with sweeping views across Koombana Bay and the coastline.

Longer spring and summer evenings make it an easy sunset stop before dinner.

Day Two

Wildlife & wildflowers

Bunbury→ Harvey Region

Dolphin Discovery Centre

Start the morning at Koombana Bay and keep an eye out for Bunbury's wild bottlenose dolphins.

Explore the Discovery Centre, join a cruise or simply spend some time around the bay. Families can choose the version that suits their pace.

Wildflower Ridge Walk

Head north into the Harvey Region for a walk through spring wildflowers and bushland, with views across the surrounding countryside.

In warmer weather, an earlier start or shorter walk keeps things comfortable.

Stirling Cottage Kitchen & Gardens

Finish among established gardens and shady riverside surrounds at Stirling Cottage.

Wander the grounds, stop for something to eat, and give yourself a slower final stop before wrapping up the weekend.
